Veterinarian Online Application

Criminal History Record Check
Pursuant to § 26-1.9., beginning July 1, 2018, and in addition to all of the requirements for licensure, an applicant for an initial license to practice as a veterinarian in West Virginia shall request and submit to the Board the results of a state and a national criminal history record check. Please be aware that criminal history record checks may take several weeks to process, and cannot be expedited for any reason. Applicants should not request and submit to the Board the results of a criminal history record check until after they have completed a licensure application and paid the appropriate licensing fee.

All applicants must take and pass the online WV state jurisprudence exam covering the laws governing Veterinary medicine in the State of WV. Click here for an electronic copy of the Practice Act and Rules which can be located at the bottom of that page under Related Information.
